THE CHALLENGE
Push the colossal franchise that is Call of Duty beyond any of its predecessors in visual execution of cinematic tone, quality and fidelity. All while maintaining the quick and responsive 60hz gameplay that players have become accustomed to.

VISUAL PILLARS

A unified Cinematic Universe: From the onset of rebooting the Modern Warfare franchise, our driving aim was to create the most realistic, authentic, cinematic and immersive player experience possible.

FILMIC TONE
Achieving a filmic tone was critical to attaining a cinematic experience. It meant Lighting, VFX, and the way we crafted our Environments were in alignment with these goals. Depicting a range of mood and atmospheres across our content, we often looked to film industry legends like Roger Deakins and Emmanuel Lubezki for inspiration.

QUALITY
Quality of our Content was Paramount! No matter what game mode, we wanted the quality of content depicted to be consistent across the modes. From our highly detailed Single Player campaign to our open world large maps like Warzone, the quality of the assets in each were unified and consistent.

FIDELITY
We aimed for the highest fidelity allowed by the constraints of the game mode and performance. For the single player campaign specifically, It meant FAITHFULLY reproducing every detail in the environment possible. Crafting a highly detailed cinematic universe that supports both gameplay, as well as the overarching narrative.
